Rural Residential Subdivision of Land for Household Purposes:


A subdivision of land that utilizes individual water wells resulting in six or more parcels per quarter-section requires a groundwater evaluation to be completed.

  The Water Act requires:
    right arrow Adequate groundwater supplies be available to support the diversion of 1,250 cubic metres (m³) per year per household
    right arrow The new development not negatively impact existing groundwater users
    right arrow A technical report to be prepared by an Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) member.
