Submitting application under the Water Act for a groundwater supply that was formerly issued with a term “Deemed Licence” for oilfield injection under the Water Resources Act:
All groundwater diversions authorized through Alberta Environment (AENV) for oilfield injection with Deemed Licences will expire on 31 Dec 2004. As such, those who wish to maintain a license to divert and use groundwater must make application under the
Water Act. The application must be supported with a technical report that includes but is not limited to the following:
| |
A review of present and future groundwater needs of the project |
| |
An alternative groundwater source study |
| |
A review of the historical groundwater monitoring data |
| |
A review of the original field-verified water well survey with a re-survey if warranted |
| |
A review of the initial aquifer test and sustainable yield calculations with re-evaluation if warranted |
HCL is currently working with several clients to collect and evaluate the data necessary to submit application to AENV for renewal of a formerly deemed licence under the Water Act. To date, HCL has worked on over 30 such projects.
